There’s no better time to get out and do things together than in the fall. That’s my opinion anyway. Whether it’s just relaxing outside at home or going for an adventure, fall date ideas are endless. T and I have our favorite traditions this time of year and we always like trying something new, too. Below are some fun fall date ideas for you and your special someone in case you need some inspiration.
Take a hike
I really enjoy summer evenings when we take walks around our neighborhood. But you know what’s even better? Exploring paths around the city when the air is crisp and the trees are colorful. It’s by far one of our favorite things to do in the fall. T and I get quality time together and we can take Cooper along with us. Most of the time we do this on a Sunday and we end the day watching football & relaxing.
Celebrate game day
Every Saturday college football takes over in the fall. If you have a college town nearby, or if you want to spring for a weekend getaway, grab tickets and go! We have season tickets to our alma mater (right up the road) and really love being part of the atmosphere on game day. It’d be a super fun date day, especially if you get some tailgating in beforehand.
Visit a pumpkin patch
Duh. Because what is more “fall” than visiting a pumpkin patch? We have so many great ones around Des Moines. Some offering corn mazes along with gift shops and hayrack rides. An apple orchard is just as good if you ask me. Either way, you’ll get out and enjoy the sunshine together while being completely “basic”. And that is completely okay.
A bonfire for two
Want to stick around home but do something “date-like”? Grab a bottle of wine, some snacks and start the fire. Honestly, inside or out counts. Crisp evening air always makes for the best fire sits. Such a cozy date that allows for lots of conversation and relaxing.
Do you have any favorite fall date ideas?

Right?! We have a fire pit & are terrible about using it for this purpose. It’s on my list this fall for sure!
