When Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday, what is the best solution? Do we go out on Saturday night? Can we really postpone until Monday? Or should we brunch?
Yes, we brunch.
Day dates can be just as fun to shop for as a traditional dinner date. Maybe even a little less stressful! You don’t have to dress up as much, heels are optional and comfort is always key. And when you find the perfect dress, boot and hat combo you might as well go for it.
I’ve been eyeing some over-the-knee boots for a while and I love them paired with a long-sleeve printed dress. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, a mimosa, a Bloody Mary…. or all of the above.
Ditsy Doll Dress – Topshop
Steve Madden Gorgeous – Zappos
Semi Precious Triangle Ring – Topshop
Wool Wide-Brim Fedora – Forever 21
Bare Naked Lip – Laura Mercier, Sephora
The floral print on the dress is colorful and adds a festive touch making the outfit feel special. Favorite part – those ruffled cuffs – so cute!
Unless you’ve already invested in the Stuart Weitzman pair everyone is crushing on, these Steve Madden boots are a great substitute at a much more reasonable price. Try them in taupe versus a black or grey for a better daytime look.
Brunch doesn’t need many accessories. Throw on a statement ring or a couple bangles, then skip the shampoo and opt for loose curls under a wide brimmed fedora. It’s a fun pop of color and is right on trend. A nude, glossy lip will top it off and allow your worries to be focused on that plate of pancakes.
Whatever you do, do it in style. Don’t miss my other Valentine’s Day looks:
warm hearts.
date night.
swanky romance.
Happy Fri-yay, my Valentine’s!
xoxo. a
