My effort to stay positive this spring and fight through my annual slump of unmotivation has backfired. The result has been an even longer season draining me of inspiration. I know we only have a couple weeks left of the bipolar weather (which is truly the worst part for me), but the final stretch can be the most rough. For a cherry on top, my dslr camera lens broke, leaving me a little down-for-the-count in creating content. Shooting on my iPhone has been fine, honestly, but I miss the quality. Not that anyone cares… and all I’m hearing as I type this is excuses. I hate that.
As I’m struggling to stay motivated, my monthly goals have forced me to continue showing up over on the ‘gram. I enjoy creating content in all forms and right now, it seems my most-visited social platform gets the most attention. Here’s a roundup of recent spring favorites I’ve shared there that haven’t yet landed here.
Faux Leather Spring Jacket
After many failed attempts at finding the perfect spring jacket in stock, I finally found this faux leather gem at Target. I really love the faux leather trend, but hadn’t considered a spring jacket to flaunt it. This one is affordable, a perfect weight and the pockets are handy. I’ve definitely got my use out of it!
Throwback Sweatshirts
Man, I’m having a hard time not filling my closet solely with throwback sweatshirts. I love, love, love this trend. An effortless, cool-girl look with joggers, denim shorts or honestly, whatever! The best blessing the pandemic gifted the fashion world is mixing loungewear with everything. It’s just… refreshing. Or unexpected. I’m not sure, but I love it. Before I spent all my money on these sweatshirts, I dove into my mom’s closet & found a long lost NY, NY tourist sweatshirt that fit the bill. Highly recommend reusing before buying, but here are some affordable options if you’re looking to purchase new.
Shoulder Pads + Nude Slides
I definitely need to replace all the sandals in my closet. They’re either extremely dated or ruined from summertime abuse. Basic nude slides will always fill the most gaps in any sandal collection. I went ahead and grabbed an affordable foam pair at Old Navy that I can’t stop wearing. Then I grabbed this classic criss-cross pair at Banana Republic Factory to dress up or down. Not done, but a great start. As for shoulder pads… I shocked myself! I ordered this Mango tank top on a whim and man, it’s good. My wide shoulders scared me away from shoulder pads, but I actually find them quite flattering. Try something new, right?! Long live the 90s.
WearMe Pro Eyewear
I’m constantly battling with sunglasses. After investing in a couple pair and ultimately losing them, I vowed to stick to more affordable options. With that, quality & overall attractiveness seem to wane though. But I finally fell in love with WearMe Pro Eyewear. They graciously sent me a beautiful pair of blue light glasses to try and I immediately wanted their sunglasses. You’d never know they fall under $30 with the gold details and sturdy quality.
