I’m Feeling The Retail Fatigue, But…

I’m feeling the retail fatigue. That ‘I don’t think I can swipe my credit card anymore‘ feeling. Kind of exhausting, right? I do think online shopping has made it worse. That instant gratification of in-store buying is missing and I’ve lost track of all the shipments due to our doorstep. Oh well, what do you know. I still find myself browsing for some affordable winter clothes because I’m a sucker for cozy layers.

This really fun H&M cardigan showed up later than expected (story of the season, right?) and the second I put it on, I knew it was a winner. Cardigans have made quite the roar since fall and I’m still very into the trend. Styled buttoned-up with high-waist denim is my preferred look, as you’ll see here. But cardigans are so versatile, everyone should add a few to their closet.

Besides the cardigan, H&M has such great options for affordable winter clothes. I’m constantly browsing their site – I now buy for Emmett there, too – and I found a few amazing, basic pieces for the cold season. All under $100, simple and effortless. The best!

My Cardigan +
Others On My List

The cardigan I’m wearing above is such a great buy. $20 and really comfy. The pop of gold on the buttons sold it for me. FYI, it is a cropped sweater, so I recommend styling with high waist pants unless you’re using it as a top layer or paired with a dress or skirt. I always pick up affordable crew neck sweatshirts when shopping H&M. Currently crushing on this white one and also this printed sweater.

Matching Set

A trend going nowhere. Especially since it appears 2021 will begin the same way 2020 is ending.. at home. I snagged a great Nike set this fall, but still have yet to find a great basic to invest in. Definitely eyeing this one for the color and what looks like comfy material. It’s a harder look to pull off than you’d think. It can’t be too sloppy or too stiff, ya know?

Faux Fur + Boots

My exact faux fur coat is a couple years old from Vero Moda & no longer available. But, so many similar options are out there. Like this one! $80 and you’ll wear it all the time. Promise. As for the basic black boot, you can never go wrong.

Other Finds

I’ve been looking for a cropped jacket or blazer of sorts. Actually, I wasn’t able to pinpoint exactly what I wanted until I came across this wool blend option at H&M. There it is! The color, the accent pockets and the cropped look… I need to snag it. I’m also loving the idea of trading jeans in for some trouser types. The black pair I linked here are $40 and cropped. Could be styled so many ways.

I seriously love shopping for winter clothes. What is your favorite season to buy for?

xoxo. B
