When we got our first snow in Iowa this week, all I could think about was baking cookies and wrapping holiday gifts. The thing is, typically in mid-October, I have zero gifts bought and we are over a month away from putting up any kind of tree. Which stands true this year. However, I’m feeling the heat to jump start holiday shopping asap. Anyone else?
This year will definitely look different. I’m trying to avoid crowds as much as possible and I’ve also made a pact (to myself) to support as many local and small businesses as possible while scouting out the perfect gifts. These businesses have had a hard year and Amazon won’t miss me if I choose to shop elsewhere. I’ve heard murmurs of this all over social media and I love the amount of people choosing to stand behind small business.
So… while thinking how my shopping habits will look a little different for this holiday season, I thought, why shouldn’t my content too?
I know holiday gift guides are really popular for good reason. That’s why I don’t want to completely eliminate them. I also love gifting and it feels natural for me to share my favorite finds. But I wanted to jazz it up this year. Make it more exclusive and intimate versus buy this, this and this.
Here’s the plan.
Instead of bombarding my site with monotonous gift guide collages, I’m sending my curated gift ideas straight to your inbox. If you want it there, that is! Everyone is invited, but you’ve got to be signed up to get the goods (see below). I’m really excited to provide more exclusive content with more thoughtful ideas. Once a week, my top gift finds and easy links to shop directly. My goal is to help you shop early, safely and enjoy the season. We all deserve brightness at the end of this crazy year. No spam, I promise. Let’s have some fun!
