Good times were when we all started buying a bunch of loungewear at the beginning of the pandemic, semi-glad we had an excuse to stay home and veg out, ammiright? Ok, no, nothing about this was ever happy or fun. But you know what I mean. Now, I feel like we’re all on survival mode as we really have no end in sight. For us, that has meant frequent quarantine purchases via Amazon and various other online retailers for things we now deem “necessary” that definitely wouldn’t have qualified before.
Living Room Updates
One of our biggest quarantine purchases? A new living room couch. Spending all this time at home really brought to light some updates we’d been avoiding. We always had our eye on this West Elm piece (perfect for small spaces), but decided not to invest that much dough at this point. We’re very happy with a small leather sectional we found at a local store. Along with upgrading our seating, we finally finished our new gallery wall with Mixtiles. Check out this Instagram post for more details. We love how displaying our travel and family photos came together so easily! Emmett is officially on the move, destorying everything in his path, including our exposed book display on our current end table. I ordered a more modern replacement with storage from AllModern.com. Hoping it works.
Skin Care
There have been many, many changes this year, but a big one for me that I never would have predicted is ditching make-up and taking better care of my skin. Working from home and now staying home with E has really minimized my beauty routine and I absolutely love it. Per some reader feedback, I purchased the Philosophy Purity Cleanser and Renewed Hope In A Jar. On top of that, I treated myself to OLEHENRIKSEN Cold Plunge Pore Mask and the ILIA Limitless Mascara. Honestly, I’m the furthest thing from a beauty expert, but have zero complaints on any of it.
Ok, and I have to plug Billie products here because seriously… all the social media hype around this brand is 100% deserved. I started with the $9 razor pack, skeptical AF because I’ve tried these “trendy” razors before & hated every single one. Proven wrong – I am in love the Billie razor. And with the replacement subscription, I never have to think about razors again. It’s amazing, and honestly cheaper (or equivalent) to anything else. This month, I opted in on their Dry-Bye Body Lotion. Everything from the thick consistency to the subtle grapefruit scent is fantastic. What should I try next? They’ve got me on the hook.
Everything for Emmett
At 8 months old, E rarely stops moving. Being home with him all day truly opened my eyes to how busy babies need to be. He sleeps better when we have a full day of fun, but mama also needs to get things done so I need toys to keep him independently occupied. That’s why I caved and signed up for the Lovevery Play Kit subscription. Honestly, it’s pricy. But I’m not one to scout the toy aisle trying to find the perfect distraction. I have no idea what he wants at this stage, but Lovevery does! First package down, and E has shown interest and played diligently with every single item. My favorite part is that Lovevery focuses on the Montessori method for learning which requires no obnoxious noises or batteries.
Beyond the subscription, we have an outdoor swing on order from Amazon. We’re looking into wagons, but what are those price tags?! E continues to grow like a weed, so more clothes are going into storage bins. My go-to retailers to stock up on new basics for him are H&M, Old Navy and Carter’s. I always shop the sales.
Have you made any major quarantine purchases lately?

Oh yes, I can totally relate! We actually bought a new couch during quarantine too and it was such a good decision! I’ve been doing a lot of furniture updates throughout my apartment too. Totally getting my interior decorating on.
