When it comes to fall boots, the question is always “where do I begin & where do I stop?”. At least that’s always the case for me. It never fails, every year the trends are irresistible & I instantly feel the need to completely make over my boot closet. So many options, how do you choose? I’m definitely trying to get more choosy when it comes to fall boots. Eventually the closet space will run out. So, here are the four categories I’m focused on this season.
Crocodile Embossed
While snake print boots are still oh-so-hot, crocodile embossed is newest rage. And I’m all on board. I opted for a pair of ankle boots when I scooped up my snake print pair last fall, but with crocodile, I feel like it’s time to get a knee-high option. These ones from Mango are to die for. Perfect with sweater dresses & skirts, the texture will elevate any fall outfit.
Black Ankle
I’m a big believer in getting a good pair of black ankle boots. If you’re like me and already own a pair, a second might be worth the investment. That’s just how much I wear them. I love this basic Steven pair. A classic pointed-toe, fitted through the ankle & suede for added texture. Plus the heel isn’t too high, so if you want to wear them almost every day like me, go for it!
Combat
Honestly, I loved seeing Dr. Martens make a comeback in the last few years. But, I never thought I would actually jump on the combat boot trend. What inspired the entire idea was a stop at Nordstrom Rack & scoring this $40 MIA pair. I love participating in something trendy without having to break the bank. So far, I’ve already got my monies worth. So fun to style with sweaters, leggings & even a midi dress or two.
Weather-ready
If you know me, you know I love the cold weather. What I love even more than that is having the right gear to conquer the cold weather. I believe in making the investment – especially if you live somewhere with harsh winters (like the Midwest!) – and Sorel is my go-to brand for weather-ready boots. I have a heavy-duty pair I travelled to Iceland with, but I’m currently eyeing a “run-around-town-in-January” option. These are more like tennis shoes with all the right harsh weather features. Plus, they’re so cute, right?! These may land on my Christmas list.

I’m loving the combat boot trend, too which is usually so not my style, but it’s fun!
Just sayin’,

Yes! I went back and forth on trying it, but ended up loving the pair I scored at Nordstrom Rack. So far, they’re super versatile!
