To Our Baby Boy

Hey, little man. Mama here. Just a few short weeks before you arrive and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous and terrified… but also very excited. Your dad and I both. So many emotions all at the same time. We can’t wait to meet you, hold you & find out if you have dad’s eyes or mom’s nose. And whether those eyes are brown or blue.

We can’t wait to watch those eyes light up as we show you the world. Listen while you start to form words. Feel the love we already have for you reach endless bounds. Your dad and I have experienced a lot of life without you. We’ve learned our lessons, we’ve worked, we’ve traveled, we’ve loved & we’ve lost. But nothing has prepared us for the amount of joy & happiness you’ll bring into our lives.

We talk a lot about your future already, little man. Not that we want you to grow fast, but because we know you will. We hope nothing stops you. There are no ceilings you can’t break through, no challenge too difficult. There are infinite possibilities in this world and you, my little man, can do whatever you dream. We’re already so proud of you.

Dream big. Look up. Whenever life feels impossible, realize how much space there is above you. It’s there for you to grow into, occupy, find peace and know you can rise above. The stars and the moon are there to remind you. Look up. And know we’ll always be here, cheering you on.

Dad hopes you get mom’s patience. Mom hopes you get dad’s charisma. We both want you to grow strong, smart and kind. We can’t wait to meet you, little man. Just a few short weeks. We already love you more than you know.
