A Last Minute Dress Success

Sometimes, waiting until the very last minute to run to the closest department store over lunch when looking for something to wear pays off. I’ve been known to wear a black floral dress before, but this one is by far my favorite I’ve ever owned. And I had exactly 25 minutes to find it, try it on and make the decision. Luckily, the decision was an easy one.

Why did I need a dress so quickly? My brother got married on a Monday a few weeks ago! Him and his bride wanted a super intimate, family-only celebration and they planned what ended up being the most special day in about four weeks. Meanwhile, we were headed to Maine the week before the big day & I needed something to wear ASAP. My growing bump didn’t help because buying something too far in advance means risking it not fitting as baby boy pops. Anyway… thankfully I happened to take a chance on this black floral dress, thinking I would hate it, when I actually instantly fell in love.

Still squeezing into a non-maternity option, I’m obsessed with the simple daisy print, sheer sleeves, high neck and open detail in the back. This Miss Selfridge dress looks way different online & I would have never ordered it based on photos. I typically stay away from mesh-like materials for comfort reasons, but this one is so soft and stretchy, I could wear it all day long. Which I basically did!

Have a wedding this fall? Honestly, you just can’t go wrong with a black floral dress. Chic, trendy and most are able to be dressed up or dressed down.
