Ah, summer sun. We’ve finally been seeing and feeling it around here. And there’s no better way to beat the heat than getting in the water. In my opinion at least. Whether you’re hanging by the pool, jumping on (or off) a boat, going crazy with water sports or taking a floaty to the beach, it all qualifies. Swim suits fly off the shelves this time of year in order to keep up with all this summer fun. So, to help you sort through the endless supply, I’ve rounded up four of my picks. All in categories I frequently buy or intend to (someday).
My Pick: Cut-Out One-Piece
My go-to swim suit style over the past couple years, a cut-out one-piece swim suit seriously makes for a better beach day. Nothing beats getting coverage without being too conservative and feeling confident while soaking up the sun. Aerie kills it every year in the one-piece category, and this new design they have for 2019 is selling like hot cakes. Especially since it’s on sale for $20 right now. Run, go, go, go get it.
My Pick: Bikini
Also from Aerie (surprise, surprise), I’m obsessed with this little red bikini. The top and bottom are sold separately, but the total suit is under $30. I love the lace-up detail on the top and the shape is so flattering. The high-waist bottoms are on-trend for summer and are also flattering. Oh, that red you ask? Why not go bold? It’s so much fun and would be great for the 4th of July!
My Pick: Full Coverage One-Piece
Ok, I understand a full-coverage (sleeves included) swim suit isn’t for everyone. But, if you’re one to cover your skin with a rash guard or slather on SPF all day, I love this black one-piece from Rip Curl. Why not get it all in one? I have yet to pull the trigger on full coverage. But, becoming more picky about my skin and strapping into my wakeboard makes me very tempted. This one is sleek and chic, perfect for doing any sort of water sport. Plus, the cut-out details at the bottom make it feel less “full-coverage”.
My Pick: Best From Cupshe
Anyone I ask about Cupshe either loves or hates the site. I’ve heard all about good and bad experiences from the discount retailer. My personal opinion? I love it. I’ve only had good luck with Cupshe and their swim suits are some of my favorite options at such reasonable prices. Including this new navy blue plunge neck one I bought for our trip to Florida. So comfortable, flattering and simply chic. The entire back is open and balances out the front. I highly recommend!
