I have yet to figure out an efficient way to keep an organized book list. I’ve used notes on my iPhone to keep track of random novels I come across. Then I browse the aisles at Barnes & Noble every once in a while & end up adding a couple to my bookshelf. And there’s the rolling list of titles in my head (this is by far the least efficient). Oh, and then I have a bookshelf full of options I’ve come across in many ways.
I definitely need to get more organized. But, until then, my book list will live in various different places and forms. When I sat down to think through the books I really wanted to read before the year slips away again, I decided on four. Various genres and topics – I think this list is set in stone. For now.
The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn
I’ve been seeing this one pop up on multiple blogs & accounts I follow. I’m probably a little behind, but it’s officially on my list. So it counts. Anyway… I’m a huge fan of suspense novels like Gillian Flynn’s Sharp Objects and Paula Hawkins’ Into the Water. From what I hear, The Woman in the Window falls right in line with those. Sign me up. Mystery and suspense surrounding a recluse woman spying on her neighbors, wondering if what she saw could possibly be true. I know I won’t be able to put it down.
Edge of Eternity by Ken Follett
I’m sure you’re no stranger to my obsession with historical fiction & Ken Follett. The latest book I finished was the second of his Century Trilogy – Winter of the World. Because I was blown away by the tales of WWII, I’m beyond anxious to start reading Edge of Eternity which will cover the Cold War. It feels very relevant to the things we learned in history class & the events our grandparents and parents experienced. I think that’s why these Follett novels in particular stand out for me. I’m determined to finally wrap this series up!
Where’d You Go, Bernadette? by Maria Semple
Ok… I went round and round with this book when it first came out. Should I read it? Does it even sound that good? Then, I saw the movie trailer. I hate to say a movie trailer talked me into reading a book, but it did. The movie will star Cate Blanchett as Bernadette and the storyline looks so good. But I have a strict rule to never watch a movie before reading the book. And considering it will hit theaters in August, I think I found my early summer read! Have you read Where’d You Go, Bernadette?
Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick
Here’s a confession: I already started this one but I still consider it on my book list. Why? I’ve been really bad about consistently reading lately and while I’ve absolutely loved every word Anna wrote, I just haven’t finished. Her witty personality shines right through the pages and I can actually hear her saying the words she typed. So, what I’m trying to say is… if you’re a fan of AK, then I highly recommend getting your hands on Scrappy Little Nobody. She dishes on her journey to fame and has a lot of funny stories to share. And I’m not even finished!
Ok, now that I’ve shared my list… do you have any book lists or any recommendations for me to add? Look at me. Already trying to amend this list. Typical.

Ah, I need to get back on goodreads! The app is probably way more convenient than just trying to track on the website once in a while. I’m so excited to read Bernadette – & I hope Woman in the Window is as good as all the hype!

Yay! I’m all about giving book suggestions whenever you need it! I consider my self a regular reader & still don’t think I read enough. It’s not always easy to carve out time!

I think I saw some other people suggest this, but have you tried Goodreads to keep track of your books?! You can set up different lists, etc. If you ever join, let me know and we can be friends. 🙂 Scrappy Little Nobody has been on my bookshelf for like three years, so I definitely need to make a point to read it!
Just sayin’,

I have tried Goodreads! I need to be better about actually tracking in it. The app sounds like a good deal since I rarely find me on the website anymore. I need to download & add you as a friend! Also – I just finished Scrappy Little Nobody last night. It is so fun. Especially if you like Anna!
