An Easy Spring Trend Everyone Should Try

Hair barrettes. Who knew, as we all tossed our mounds of hair clips and barrettes from the 90s, that some day we’d wish we still had them. I get that trends always come full circle, but really? Hair barrettes? I did not see it coming.

But, nonetheless, I’m on board. Not just on board, but pretty convinced this is the most fun you could have with a trend this spring. The minute I saw barrettes becoming a staple of NYFW street style, I quickly went shopping. At first, I couldn’t find anything I liked. Well.. scratch that. I loved everything, but I didn’t feel like spending over $20 per hair clip. Let’s be honest, this may only last one season. Anyway… after a few weeks of searching, I finally found hair barrettes popping up all over. And the prices got much better.

Leave it to Amazon and Target, ammiright? I spent $30 total on my collection which includes a sparkly assortment, simple and minimal gold pieces and some fun white, tortoise & pink ones. All of which I know I’ll wear repeatedly.

You have zero excuses to not try this spring trend. Unless, of course, you absolutely hate it. Which I totally get. But if you’re intrigued, go for it! There are so many different colors, shapes and sizes to fit anyone’s personal style. Plus, a low investment to instantly elevate a look is good as gold in my book. Wear them as accessories with your hair down like I did here (oh, & here’s how I curl my hair in 10 minutes). Put your hair in a bun or pony and add them as accents. Or actually use them to hold your hair half up for a chic, business-casual vibe. You just can’t go wrong.

I’ve linked the ones I’m wearing below, plus a few others I’ve found (and am tempted to order). Do you love or hate the idea of hair barrettes being back?

xoxo. B

Aw thank you!! It took me forever to find ones I liked (the really big ones look terrible on me), but the ones I found, I love!
