I know, I know… you hear me talk about the Gixo fitness app a lot. But I’m 100% serious when I say it’s the best thing that’s happened to my workout routine in years. I want to keep talking about Gixo because during January, they hosted a weekly challenge. Four classes a week for four weeks. The classes ranged from my favorite HIIT quickies to 40 min early morning yoga sessions and kickboxing intervals. And I’m here to say I successfully finished them all with six less pounds on my body!
I don’t want to focus on the weight loss, though. I’ve never been one to worry about numbers on a scale and I’m not going to start. However, between making a commitment to eating healthier (& tracking my habits with the Lose It app – fantastic, btw) and showing up for the Gixo fitness app challenge, I wanted a way to measure success. Not only do I feel so much better, my mind is also throwing confetti while I celebrate showing up each and every day. Remember my word for 2019? So far, I’m on track.
So why am I sticking with Gixo in February?
For starters, obviously my January results are motivational. I’m making progress, I’m feeling good & I’ve successfully integrated workouts into my weekly schedule. But, the most exciting reason I’m sticking with Gixo in February? They’re hosting another challenge. And it’s not only going to benefit me. The 3 week, 4 class per week challenge will focus on heart health because February is American Heart Month. Furthermore, Gixo has pledged to donate $20 to the American Heart Association for every person who completes all 12 classes by February 24th! How amazing is that?
You may see on Instagram today that I’m also participating in #WearRedDay. Sponsored by the American Heart Association, this day specifically raises awareness of heart disease in women which claims the lives of 1 in 3. My family has history of heart issues and high blood pressure, so this hits home. We’ve suffered loss due to cardiac events and I could not be more tuned into taking steps to stay healthy for this reason.
In case you need a refresher…
Here are a few reasons I love the Gixo fitness app.
- A very wide variety of classes for only $20/month – way cheaper than any gym with that amount of options
- All can be done at home, indoors if preferred
- Live classes are available with live coaches to push you through – they’re also available for advice and support on reaching goals
- Exercise whenever and however you want
- Work out and connect with people from all over
- They give back (see above) which has pushed me to finish two 5Ks – something I never saw myself doing (not a runner)
And honestly, I’m totally aware Gixo is not for everyone. For me, it solved the issue of workout program ADD and motivated me to show up. I can’t specifically say why this was the answer for me – maybe a combination of all the above reasons.
The February challenge is a great time to get a taste of what the Gixo fitness app is all about. If you’re interested and want to try Gixo for FREE, follow this link and use event code ‘pointednorth’. Skip the payment screen until you make a decision if it’s right for you!
