Back in October when the weather took it’s first turn towards freezing, my skin freaked out. I mean… freaked out. Specifically my face. I have a history of sensitive skin issues, especially on my face, and it always worsens when the temperatures drop. This breakout could have been caused by more than just the cold snap in, but I know winter had at least a small part in it. So upon this especially bad outbreak of dry, itchy, bumpy skin on my face, I went to work experimenting with products until I found a solution. As a result, I have some new favorite winter beauty products. It’s a trio I now use religiously which focus on moisture, calm and recovery.
belif aqua bomb
I discovered this miracle cream while searching for a winter moisturizer a couple years ago and have sworn by it since. The name – aqua bomb – is extremely fitting because that’s exactly what the product feels like when applied. The silky, watery, creamy but light product sinks effortlessly into your skin upon contact leaving it dewey and soft. Typically just a tiny dab will do and the container lasts for a solid few months, but while my skin was dry and bumpy, I caked it on. Never did it feel too heavy or too oily. It sinks right in and nurtures. I use this as a daily moisturizer in the winter months, but keep in mind, there is no spf protection, so I switch it up in the summer.
Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask
The belif aqua bomb is fantastic, but I truly owe my skin’s recovery to this cucumber gel mask by Peter Thomas Roth. I layered it on multiple nights in a row until my skin found the relief it needed. The aloe-like texture mixed with the cooling sensation helped my skin feel better almost immediately. Actually, the first night, I think I did this mask twice in a row because it just felt that good and relieved the discomfort. Unlike most masks, this one is light and easy to apply and to remove. Simply spread a generous layer over your skin, let sit for 10-15 min & remove with warm water and a wash cloth. Your skin will be dewey, smooth and refreshed. I’ve continued to use this mask about once a week and honestly see a difference every single time.
Beautycounter Recovery Sleeping Cream
Yes, I hopped on the Beautycounter train. And I’m not looking back. I started searching for a good night cream earlier this year and after a close friend started selling BC, I took her recommendation and bought the countermatch face & eye cream. If you’re not familiar with the brand, Beautycounter offers clean beauty products, free of chemicals and the nasty stuff we’ve all come accustomed to. Simply put, it’s just good for you. And I am a believer now that I’ve been religiously using the recovery sleeping cream. I wake up with skin looking like it’s been “fed” – and it literally has been. With all the good stuff. This was the perfect topper for my skin while experiencing discomfort and I continue to use it every night.
I actually shared my skin catastrophe on Insta-stories and got so many awesome tips from followers. If you were one of them, thank you so, so much. I’m a true believer in finding the right solution for you – everyone’s skin is different. I would highly recommend any of these products, but make sure to do your research too.
Do you have any favorite winter beauty products?

Yes! I actually got this mask as a free sample from Sephora and was instantly addicted. Then my skin freaked out & I knew I had to have it. I highly recommend!
