The Almost Christmas Sweater

I’ll start by saying a couple things. First, I don’t typically wear actual Christmas sweaters (really, though what qualifies?). Two, I never thought I’d actually be able to pull off this chevron, tri-colored sweater. Why? For some reason, the bold stripes seemed intimidating to my otherwise more neutral wardrobe. Plus, I typically shy away from anything that exaggerates my shoulders. Even so, I couldn’t help but chance it on this chevron sweater from MANGO. I mean, the red, green and white are such a striking color combination and then add in the approaching holiday season – very serendipitous. So, I reluctantly added it to my cart thinking I could always return it. Which obviously did not happen, because I promptly fell in love.

I’m not even sure what to actually call this sweater trend – I’ve seen chevron sweater (which I’ve personally chosen to use), tri-colored sweater and even varsity sweater. Depends on where you’re shopping. Why does that matter? Well, this particular style sold out during the crazy weekend sales, so you’ll need to know what to search for if you’re crushing like me. But of course, I also rounded up a few others I have my eye on below. See… I’ve now become a little more brave and am considering adding more to my selection. I’ve got my eye on a particular red, pink and black one.

Beyond being a chevron sweater, I also deemed this find as the “almost Christmas sweater”. Obviously the colors are festive, but it also doesn’t scream “holiday” in your face. It’s like… it wants to be Christmas, but at the same time it doesn’t. Which I’m completely ok with. It will be very appropriate to wear past December and I’m forecasting I’ll get more than enough use out of it. But if you catch me wearing it on ugly Christmas sweater day, please don’t judge.
