Not Just Another Blazer

This corduroy blazer for fall has me all heart eyes. Honestly, between this amazing blazer and my new favorite leopard print skirt, I feel like I hit the jackpot. Fall fashion is so fun and when you find pieces that you absolutely love, there’s really nothing better. The blazer trend continues to gain momentum and may have hit it’s peak in popularity. I even created a Pinterest board specifically dedicated to my love for all blazers because they are just that good. Pair them with skirts, jeans, matching pants, bike shorts – you name it, I guarantee a blazer would top the outfit off nicely.

So, with all the options out there, why is this one not just another blazer? For one, the corduroy. A corduroy blazer may not be for everyone, but this particular piece from Asos checked all the boxes for me. Trendy, double-breasted, good fit and comfortable to wear. For two, the color is simply stunning. I’ve been seeing more and more burnt orange pop up this fall and not only is it the perfect fall-ish color, it actually pairs well with more than you’d think. I meant to style this corduroy blazer with it’s matching corduroy pants, but more on that later. Turns out, the classic denim works just as beautifully. Add a printed blouse or rib-knit sweater underneath and you’re set.

Speaking of the denim (picked up at Old Navy, of course), I have to add in a little tip. Last year it was all about the sock booties over skinnies – this year it’s more about straight denim over the boot. I have a hard time pulling this off since my legs are short, but with a tight fit through the knee, I love how it works here.
