Why I Still Shop at Forever 21

September has been a busy one and I truly can’t believe it’s over. But we have a California getaway coming and for that, I’m grateful. Time to explore a new place, time to disconnect and relax. Just what we need. A year ago, we were on our Scandinavian adventure, visiting Iceland and Norway, so I’m anxious to get away again. But before I go… and take a break for a week… there are a couple more things I’d like to share with you. First, this amazing striped duster I picked up on a whim at Forever 21.

Sometimes it’s fun to pop into a Forever 21 and just take a peak at what the barely-in-their-20s girls are wearing. And recently, I’ve been stopping in to take advantage of their cheap accessories. On this particular stop though, I had a hay-day with all their new arrivals as well. It can be hit or miss at Forever 21. Obviously, they sell clothes for cheap so the quality isn’t always there. But, if you’re looking to buy some trendy pieces like this striped duster (under $30!) that may last only one season, it’s the best place to be.

This is definitely out-of-the-norm for me, something I’ve been pushing myself to do lately. I never got into the kimono trend a couple years back – it just wasn’t my style. So I can’t tell you exactly what drew me in here, but I do love the mustard yellow and navy mix. Plus, a duster is such an easy throw-on piece to elevate an outfit. I kept this look simple with a white tank I’ve had forever and a good pair of denim. I could also see it layered with a midi dress and sneakers. Maybe I’ll try that next. Unfortunately, Forever 21 didn’t have this exact striped duster online, but I linked similar (and just as good) ones below.

Such a cute look on you! I agree that the quality at Forever 21 can be iffy, but sometimes there’s some really good pieces. These colors are perfect for you for fall. I hope that you have a fantastic California getaway!
