I get nostalgic this time of year. Thinking about all the kids going back to school. Mainly about all the college students heading back to campus because honestly, there was nothing better. University campus in the fall truly can’t be beat. Besides all the changing leaves and hustle bustle of a new class schedule, the next thing that stands out clear in my memories is moving into a new apartment. Or into the dorms freshman year. Moving day was always so exciting. Reuniting with roommates and friends after a summer away. Organizing the apartment, talking about the year ahead and settling in to a new, clean space.
Now, I think we can all agree… college living always comes with problems to solve. Small spaces and space sharing being the majority. If you don’t have that problem to solve in college, good for you. But I can almost guarantee every student has encountered these issues in some form or another. So, I can only imagine the amount of students still getting settled and trying to figure out some sort of organization in their new apartment or dorm. And I have the perfect retailer for those students to visit so they can solve these problems, without breaking the bank.
You can spend a fortune on storage units and other items, or you can visit your local Gordmans. Gordmans is an off-price retailer that offers designer and name brand items for discount prices and it makes buying for the home so much more affordable. It’s truly the perfect spot for college students to go to stock up on all their back-to-school needs. And I’ve listed (below) exactly what I think those students should be looking for when they visit Gordmans.
Perfect back-to-school apartment (or dorm!) items you can get for a deal at Gordmans:
Cute Notebooks, Agendas & Desk Organizers
No joke, the notebook I have in my hands in the picture above is $3! More than half the price of most major retailers. Every student needs planners or notebooks to stay organized and to go along with those, I highly recommend some desk organizers. Which Gordmans has plenty of as well. Making your workspace look good and be functional will help with concentration when you’re cramming for those mid-term exams (things I don’t miss about school).
Wall Decor, Blankets & More
A small space can be homey, too! And what better way than to add some candles, vases and wall decor that show off your personality. I love the idea of a quote canvas for your bathroom or a fun abstract print for the shared living room – if you have roommates. Plus some throw blankets at a bargain never hurt. Soft, plush blankets for under $20 cannot be beat, and why not be comfy while cuddled up with your homework? It may not seem necessary, but the more you make your home-away-from-home actually fee like “home”, the better you’ll feel.
Storage Bins
Yes, Gordmans has a ton of options when it comes to storage. Although you may need to get a little creative. Sometimes bathrooms need wire stands for toilet paper or make up overflow. Maybe the apartment entry needs a shelf to throw keys and your roommate’s mail so it doesn’t get lost. Or have you figured out where your shoes will go? No matter the issue, there are options… and definitely for the right price.
Are you doing any back-to-school shopping?

I miss having a Gordman’s near me – you can sometimes find the cutest stuff there! Great post, girly. Also, is the jumpsuit from old navy? And you need to do a hair curling tutorial! 🙂

Seriously! I almost walked out with a whole new house lol. The jumpsuit is from Old Navy earlier this year! I wear it ALL the time. I’ll have to work on the hair curling thing! I feel like I’m so bad at it! Thanks, Karly!
