The Not-So-Boring Basic Dress

I made a few purchases once the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opened to the public, but definitely not as many as I thought.  Actually, T even reaped the benefits this year.  I usually don’t budget time or money for the men’s category (sorry, T!).  A lot of the items I had on my wish list disappeared only a day or two before public access.  I wouldn’t say I’m greatly disappointed – I didn’t need any of it.  The prices were right and the stuff would have been great for fall, but I’m surviving.  Because… it’s just a sale.

Besides all of that noise, I’m here to tell you out of the few items I did get, I managed to grab the one dress I was truly dying over.  Brittany over at Loverly Grey posted it during early access on her Instagram and I instantly added it to my list.  And when I logged in early on July 22nd, my size was miraculously still available.  #NSale success!

This WAYF blouson midi dress sticks out a bit in my wardrobe.  I don’t have anything quite like it and those are my favorite purchases.  I love the stripes, the colors, the fit, the length – everything.  It’s work appropriate, but I also see myself wearing it to concerts, date night, bridal showers, weddings, you name it.  The dress exhibits how not every basic has to be boring.  WAYF has a few of these dresses – ones that will live in your closet for seasons to come.  So I went ahead and not only linked my favorite striped option (only a few sizes left!), but also a few of their other not-so-boring basic dresses below, including this style in a gorgeous light purple.
