Today’s post is brought to you by my California outfit planning inspiration. That’s right – I’ve already started and we don’t leave until late September. To say I’m already anxious would be an understatement. Mainly for two reasons. One, I always get overly excited for travel. Two, the timing of our trip makes it feel like we have an extended summer ahead. We didn’t want too much of an itinerary for the trip and our main focus is simply to escape and relax along the west coast. So besides a few more hotel reservations to make, the only to-do left is gathering outfits. It may sound a bit hasty since September seems so far away, but it’s almost August, and the reality is… time will fly. And when I found this Asos floral romper, I knew I couldn’t pass.
The current state of my spring/summer Pinterest board clearly shows my inspiration for this California trip. We’re flying into LAX, spending time on Catalina Island then heading back to land and exploring the piers of Santa Monica, Venice and Malibu. We’ll finale in Palm Springs. It’s my first time in The Golden State and I plan to fully indulge in the laid-back culture. Including what I put in my suitcase. I love how loose and casual this Asos floral romper is while still being classic and chic. I actually sized up to ensure it fell properly and while it’s a little more loose at the top than I prefer, a simple belt cinches it up perfectly for a dinner by the water. Or, I can leave it sans belt over a swim suit and trot along the beach.
We’re looking for any and all recommendations for our Cali vacay, so please leave any in the comments! Unfortunately this exact romper sold out on Asos, but I’ve linked my other favorites for you below.

So jealous that you’re headed to Cali! It’s one of my very favorite places (San Diego, mainly). This romper will be perfect for your trip! Make sure you head to Venice Beach – it’s one of TBR weirdest but coolest places.

Yay! We are so excited. Venice Beach is high on our list, so I’m glad you recommended it! We’re staying two nights in the Santa Monica area because I want to see the Venice canals, do Abbott Kinney and definitely walk each pier!
