As the December days drift by and Christmas gets closer by the minute, I sometimes struggle finding motivation to finish the year strong. I’d much prefer to cuddle up under a blanket in my plaid flannel PJ’s, watch Hallmark movies and eat sugar cookies. Anyone else? But, as I learned running track in high school, the end is hardly the time to slow down.
So bring on the holiday parties, family gatherings and a kitchen remodel (spoiler alert!)…. oh and packing for a tropical vacation (another spoiler!), all mixed in with wrapping presents and last minute shopping. Oh what fun it is….
Good thing I am somewhat a planner, and was on top of choosing outfits for the holidays. Velvet being my favorite trend this season, I had been on the hunt for a long sleeve velvet dress to wear anywhere – from an office Christmas party to New Years Eve. And then, walking through Banana Republic on a whim, this black velvet wrap dress was sitting solo just waiting for me to try on. Do you believe in fate?

One of the best things about buying black dresses is you almost always have accessories to go with it at home. I wore these burgundy heels and used the green purse on our wedding day, so it’s extra special to wear them out again during the holidays!
What are you wearing to all your holiday events?

You look absolutely stunning! TOTALLY fate that it was just there solo and you laid eyes on it because it’s totally flattering. And I’m drooling over those heels! I love Sam Edelman for shoes! Retail shopping success!
