reindeer chow.

Chocolate, peanut butter and a salty crunch…. heaven?  No, just this delicious Reindeer Chow!  Holidays prove to be the best time to stir up multiple sweet treats and with the candy isles full of Christmas themed items, it’s easy to add red and green to just about anything.  Including a classic puppy chow recipe.

This frequently pinned recipe is easily customized to your own preferences – see mine at the bottom of this post – and guaranteed to be a hit at any holiday party.  And if you can’t find the perfect gift for your friend, family member or co-worker, let this sweet mixture come to the rescue.

Reindeer Chow Recipe and Giftingdsc_1355dsc_1381dsc_1376

Gifting food should make anyone happy, right?  Especially in a cute little package.  I found these take out boxes on a dollar table this summer and couldn’t pass them up.  I highly suggest scouring dollar sections and discount stores for similar items, but these snowflake bags would work great or try mason jars with a bow!  Either way, it’s a homemade gift no one can resist.

After using the Betty Crocker Muddy Buddies recipe, I simply added:

  • 1 cup stick pretzels, broken in halves
  • 1 package plain holiday M&Ms
  • 1 package mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

Mix all together in a large bowl and serve! You can add as little or as much candy as you’d like.  Other options to consider are Milk Duds, mini Twix, Peanut M&Ms or Whoppers.  Get creative!

I spend a lot of time in the kitchen during the holidays and I find it more fun when preparing food and treats for others.  There’s always someone on my list who appreciates chocolate more than fuzzy socks!

Do you gift any sweet treats?

xoxo.  a
