It’s August 3rd and I’m sitting at my desk listening to the Creedence Clearwater channel on Pandora – thank you Dad for my wonderful taste in music – wondering how it could possibly be August 3rd. Time disappears faster and faster each year, but it’s something I’ll never get used to. With all the back-to-school talk and fall decor going up in stores, it’s hard not to follow the bandwagon and forget the last month of summer. But…
I refuse to give up on summer just yet! Let’s stop willing each season away and give them the attention deserved.
With that said, there is still plenty of time for tank tops, shorts, flip flops, and of course, easy summer dresses! And lucky for me, I stumbled upon this deep yellow Anthropologie dress in the sale section at our local store. It was love at first sight. Meeting all my dream dress criteria, the decision to buy could not have been easier.
The bold color makes styling easy. A simple pair of wedges creates an easy laid-back day look, but adding a pair of nude heels would work great for a night event.
The midi length trend is my favorite this season. It’s comfortable, flattering and appropriate for all occasions. Besides the beautiful color and length, I also love the scalloped hem and different textured panels. Both add interest to a relaxed silhouette. And being from Anthro, you can imagine the quality of fabric – perfection.

Do I dare say it? Adding layers to the color and textures of this dress will make for a great transitional piece into fall. Ok, forgive me.

first of all, I’m loving the yellow! and you’re right because it looks like something you can wear in the summer but then throw something over the shoulders and it’s instantly a fall outfit! Sorry, I’m one of THOSE people that rush through summer. FALL IS MY FAV!!! lol
