Work has been almost impossible this week. With an extended 4th of July weekend right around the corner, all I can think about is lake time and s’mores. Ok, maybe the drinks too.

While packing and outfit planning for this weekend, I’m choosing to stay true to at least one patriotic print – stripes.  The first outfit was a bit more bold, complete with a trending red bandanna and royal blue striped shorts. But for an alternative, I needed something festive yet understated that could transition from day to night.

And that’s exactly what I love about this Gap dress I found (on sale!).  The stripes are perfect for the holiday, it can be dressed up for dinner, or even used as a swim cover up on the boat.

For dinner, I would grab a clutch and red is the perfect match on Independence Day!

I like to keep my accessory game simple during lake weekends, but sunglasses and a hat are always a necessity!
