Who’s ready for a fiesta?
As promised, I’m sharing my favorite Cinco de Mayo cocktail recipe to compliment the delicious guacamole posted earlier this week. Among many souvenirs from our Cabo trip, we brought back a bottle of tequila from one of our favorite stops – The Giggling Marlin – and what a perfect occasion to finally crack the seal.
I was also excited to look up drink recipes the old-fashioned way – in a bar book! The Ultimate Bar Book was a gift we received for Christmas and is nothing short of a comprehensive guide to your liquor cabinet.
Without further ado, I introduce my new favorite tequila drink, The Matador.
Sorry, Strawberry Margarita, pineapple won.
It’s simple really…
Combine the ingredients in your cocktail shaker with ice. Shake, shake, shake!
Pour over ice….
And garnish with leftover lime. Ta-da!
Serve up alongside your guacamole and taco bar for the perfect Cinco de Mayo fiesta.
The Matador
1.5 oz tequila
3 oz pineapple juice
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
Combine all ingredients in cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with ice. Strain into ice-filled glass. Finish with lime garnish.
Are you sticking with a classic margarita tomorrow, or trying something new? I’d love to hear all about it in the comments below!
