I’ve never been one to sign up for a monthly subscription box, but after some coaxing from a BFF, I finally visited the Stitch Fix website. If you’re not familiar, Stitch Fix is an online personal styling website where clothing items are hand picked and sent directly to your door. Sounds awesome, right?
My hesitation originates from the subscription aspect. Even though many boxes or similar services – JustFab, Fabletics, Birchbox, etc – have minimal monthly fees, I get anxious thinking about my money going towards the same thing every month. I love you, Kate Hudson, but I don’t need that many yoga pants. Maybe that’s the problem…
Anyway… I was excited when I discovered Stitch Fix does not require a monthly subscription. You can get a “fix” as frequently, or as infrequently as you’d like without a pesky monthly fee. Yay! The $20 service is only charged when you arrange a fix and it goes towards your final purchase.
Once I finished the lengthy (but rather fun) style questionnaire, I chose April 22nd as the delivery date and patiently waited for the package to be dropped on my front step. Talk about TGIF – I could hardly wait to open it! And got even more excited when I saw the box.
Who else is sucker for great packaging?
Here’s what’s included: an adorable box with printed instructions, a personally written note from your chosen stylist, return packaging, a thank you card, styling cards and of course, the clothes!
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but for my first fix, I think my stylist did a great job.
What I loved: the dress(41 Hawthorn), the shoes(Toms), the jeans(Kut from the Kloth)
Sending back: the skirt(41 Hawthorn), the top(Pixley), the shoes
Yes, I loved the shoes. And I can hardly ever say no, especially to Toms. But, I had already purchased two pairs of casual shoes within the last few months and don’t see the need for a third at this price range ($98). Unfortunately.
The skirt was the only thing I knew wasn’t my style right away. It’s cute, but not me. The lace top is great for summer, but I didn’t like the fit. But, my stylist scored with the dress. I absolutely love it. The sailboat print is so fun for summer and is a perfect example of what I want out of this service – fun pieces I don’t find in stores I already shop at.
And when I log back in to complete my purchase, I can tell my stylist everything I’ve shared with you. Then my next fix will be even better. That’s right.
Stitch Fix passed the test.
What do you think about Stitch Fix? Have you tried it? I’d love to hear what you think in the comments below!
