spring shopping.

Spring brings lots of good things after a long winter – blooming flowers and trees, growing grass, shining sun – but it also brings me to hate my closet.  Anyone else?

With yet another conclusion that everything in my closet needs replaced, I went bargain hunting, in stores and online, over the weekend.  Sale racks mostly consist of winter garments right now, but many items considered fall/winter can easily be used to transition into the spring and summer.  I didn’t walk away with a new closet, but I did come back with some great pieces I’m excited to wear while the temperatures rise!

I’ll spare you the boring staples I purchased, and share the pieces I’m most excited about.  By the way, where has Old Navy been hiding?  It turns out Old Navy has super cute stuff and at super affordable prices.  I had given up on this store after their obnoxious fleece commercials gave me migraines, but I have to hand it to them – a huge improvement – whatever they did.

Button-Front Romper – Old Navy
Kimono-Sleeve Open-Front Sweater – Old Navy
Chambray Shirt Dress – Old Navy

All of these were on sale.  No joke. Make sure to click the links above to see the awesome prices! These are all great pieces individually and offer endless outfit options for many seasons.

The romper and kimono sweater will be perfect for those hot days that turn into cool nights.  I would finish the outfit with strappy wedges – pictured are an Aldo pair pulled from my closet. Check out the adorable updated, similar pair here.  Which may end up mine.

I almost left the chambray shirt dress on the rack, but so glad I didn’t.  Ringing up at $13, it was a definite steal.  The exact one is not on Old Navy’s website, but I’ve linked you to a similar version – only $16.50!  Ankle boots still work for spring, and adding leopard print is always my mission.  Check out the Very Volatile boot wedges here.  Finish with a long dangling necklace and a cute bracelet.

Gray High-Waist Skinny – Banana Republic
Leith Oversize Shirt – Nordstrom

Not splurging on every item leaves room for some higher quality staples.  I swung thru Banana Republic and found the gray pants of my dreams – finally.  The link above will show you a similar pair they have online.  Buy now for 40% off!

This also may be the white button down of my dreams, found online at Nordstrom.  It is loose fitting in all the right places and will be perfect dressed up for work and comfortable dressed down for date night or my next shopping adventure.  The statement necklace I already owned helps polish the look.  Find a similar one here.

With some mixing and matching with old items, I will have a lot of options this spring. But, I can’t promise the closet makeover is finished yet….

What are your favorite pieces for spring?

xoxo.  a
