The department stores will begin transitioning inventory to spring apparel any day now, but people of the Midwest know short sleeves are still months away.
The weather is dreary, our downtown skyline is still hiding under the fog and temperature forecast for this weekend are frigid. Makes me crave grilled cheese and tomato soup. Anyone else?
Days like this call for jeans, boots and layers on top. When I woke up this morning, I didn’t even need to outfit plan. I put on my ol’ faithfuls and grabbed my umbrella. Something comfortable for the office, yet cute enough for happy hour with good friends and a hoppy ale.
My Tinley Road jacket is a couple years old, but it is my staple coat for layering. The leather sleeves add a chic, polished look and the draping front makes it cozy. Try a similar style here.
The high-low neutral cardigan is from the plaid at Target collection. My sister-in-law got an A for birthday gifting this year – I wear it almost weekly! It can be dressed up with a pencil skirt or layered casually like today, but it always keeps me warm. Find it here.
Everyone needs a pair of medium brown, mid-heel boots. They can be worn with anything, are work appropriate, and keep your feet warm! I’m wearing Aldo boots from last season, but Vince Camuto’s Mordona would look great as well.
My denim is PAIGE. I invested in this staple pair last spring and they have proved worthy. Find their products at Nordstrom or Revolve Clothing.
For those near or far sighted readers – my eye wear is Banana Republic.
Stay warm!
xoxo. a
