let’s have a cheer.

Do you still have those Christmas tunes on repeat?  I won’t judge – accepting another holiday season has come to an end is hard.  I’ll have my tree up until January 1st, thank you very much.

But, time moves forward and to give myself a little nudge in the right direction, I have switched over to my New Year’s Eve playlist.  Again, I couldn’t share just one, and you really do need both on your download list.

The dictionary says nostalgia means “a sentimental longing or wistful affection, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations”.   These two numbers will bring that right to the surface.  Please take note, you will not have the urge to dance on the table or launch fireworks while listening, but they will help you reflect.

Take a minute (or six) and enjoy.

First, Regina Spektor’s My Dear Acquaintance (A Happy New Year).
The best part is hidden in the background noise, so turn it up!

Next, Auld Lang Syne by Mairi Campbell
There are a lot of versions out there – but trust me, this is the best (and yes, it is the SATC version).

Some day when I can no longer wear 5″ heels and sequins to a raving party, I’ll turn this on and be thankful I once was able.

Cheers.

xoxo.  a.
