I grew up listening to rock & roll in my dads truck and vinyl oldies on my grandma’s record player. Now, I’m crying at the thought of my mom’s original Beatles albums being sold at garage sales while I try to grow my oh-so-small record collection.
Once I get over that, I’ll let you know.
In the meantime, I’ve loved everything from the Spice Girls to Frank Sinatra – ok, I still haven’t given up on the Spice Girls – but I truly enjoy discovering new music and learning to appreciate new genres.
Each week, I want to share a song that’s not necessarily new, or undiscovered, but one that fits the time of year, relates to a recent experience or one I can’t resist jamming out to all week while trying to get thru my workload.
If you’re discovering it for the first time on here, that’s even better. #sharethelove
A recently downloaded choice is “Life We Chose” by Jared & the Mill. It is my first song by them, but I know it won’t be the last. I’m addicted to The Royals on E! (Sunday nights!) and their choice for music in each scene is half the reason. I’m always rooting for Eleanor – her radical ways are irresistible – and this particular song came at a time I just wanted to give her a big hug.
Bonus – it is slow and easy listening for these colder winter days, AND has a surprise at the end. Now, LISTEN. DOWNLOAD. REPEAT.
